[Everyone but William begins here.]
The party makes way to the Dripping Dagger. The shadows of sundown greet them, along with the scent of fresh bread and stew. The laughter and comraderie of the Dagger assaults them in comparison. Many a mercenary is present. Suggesting a large caravan or two has arrived recently to the City of Splendors.

Rorry walks into the bar, singing the beer song.
Silvamir follows close behind Rorry, a grin finding its way to his lips despite the grim news they had just heard from the sage. Leaning in to whisper in Francesca's ear, he says "I wonder if there is a drinking song she does not know all the words to."
Francesca

Francesca nods and leans in to whipser her response to Silvamir.
"Maybe if she drinks enough we can sneak away."

[Returning William to this Thread.]
Lellowyn
01-20-2006, 12:09 AM
Lellowyn tosses the Dagger owner a gold piece and tells him to bring the usual. They'd planned enough jobs together and had soon formed a routine. A hefty dinner and drinks aplenty while they talked over maps and tomes and got details ironed out.
"So.. where shall we start this time?"

"Maybe if she drinks enough we can sneak away."
A mischievous grin finds its way to Silvamir's face as he offers Francesca a wink, rubbing his hand up and down her back.
Taking a seat at the table, the elf returns to a more serious demeanor. "We had luck with the Yawning Portal before. I suggest we start there again...take full advantage of the maps we already have in our possession."

(everybody always bags on the halfling....)
"Oooh, The Yawning Portal. I like that place. There's this bard..."
She shuffles around through her bag and pulls out a bundle of maps. "I got some neat places marked out, too."
Kilain Gravendak
01-21-2006, 12:28 AM
Kilain walks down the stairs from his room and sits at the table with his friends, The Mattock leaning against it. He waves for the serving girl to bring him an ale, and drops a silver on the table.
"sorry Im late, The Greybeard took my sight away from the hour for a bit. Hrrrrrm We headed to the Yawning Portal? Shouldnt we wait to see what William has dug up first?"
Poor William Woodholm
01-21-2006, 08:54 AM
Soon after his name was mentioned, William arrived. He had little enough to show for his time apart, and if he had spent the day drunk or asleep, well, it would be no surprise to them. At least he could speak vaguely of some mausoleum which he was confident of discovering or re-discovering once below. "Gold in such tombs as often as not. I assume that's what we're after? Not an urn. Unless you think this Prefect will pay ransom?" Will said little else and was often shut up in his own thoughts; he showed only a passing interest in the Sage’s advice and none at all in Halfling town.

Silvamir opens his mouth to speak, intending to put the dwarf's concerns to rest, when William arrives. The man provided little, and Silvamir seriously doubted whether he had done anything since his departure several hours ago. He did speak of a mausoleum however. If Zai'tan's remains had indeed been secured in a structure of some kind, it would make things easier than if he had been deposited in some shallow grave or...like Will had suggested...a small urn.
"A mausoleum would be easier to find," the elf admits. "And if we find it filled with gold, all the better. But I've no intention of offering the Prefect Zai'tan's remains for ransom. If we use the remains for anything, it will
be to lure the Prefect and his accomplices into a trap...to bring them to justice."
Francesca

Francesca nods.
"And I would suggest that if uncover something of this significance, that we notify my temple leadership. They'll be able to help set our trap if we keep them in the loop."

[Lemme know when you guys are ready to move out. Did you want to rest up and respell before taking off?]

"And I would suggest that if uncover something of this significance, that we notify my temple leadership. They'll be able to help set our trap if we keep them in the loop."
"Agreed," Silvamir nods. Glancing out the window at the setting sun, the warrior frowns. "We're losing daylight, which really makes no difference where we're heading. But if we're going to stop to rest in a short time anyway, I'd prefer to spend it here in a comfortable bed than on the ground in the dark tunnels below the City. I suggest we stay here for the night and head out just before dawn in the morning."
[Actually, I'm ready whenever everyone else is. Just thought it made sense to rest first since it was late in the day anyway.]
Francesca
01-24-2006, 01:33 AM
Francesca nods.
"I agree. Beds are better than sewer tunnels. Let's agree to rest and then get an early start tomorrow."
Rorry
01-24-2006, 02:36 AM
Rorry is already up on the bar, with mug in hand, and singing a drinking song.
Lellowyn

"Well in that case, since we have some time, I'll allow you to purchase me a few drinks Silvamir."
She grins and finishes her wine, making a point to show him her empty glass.

"Well in that case, since we have some time, I'll allow you to purchase me a few drinks Silvamir."
"Generous to a fault, Lellowyn...as always," the warrior smirks, draining his own glass. "This round is on me, friends," he says, gesturing for the barmaid to bring another round for the table. Setting his glass down, he slips his hand back beneath the table. "This last round for me...then I'm turning in. Tis early, I know, but we have an early day tomorrow"

Francesca
01-26-2006, 03:29 AM
Francesca takes another sip of her drink, nodding in response to Silvamir's words.
"That's sound thinking. I don't think I'm up for another round. I'm going to go ahead and turn in. Good night, all."
The cleric of Mystra stands and heads up the stairs to her room.

[Francesca and Silvamir sitting in a tree... K I S S I N G... first comes love, then comes handfasting.... you get the idea.]
The party finishes their drunken revely and eventually head to their room. Some alone, some not so alone.
[Moving everyone to the 'Day 04 - The Deep Well' thread. Closing this thread. If you need anything PM me.]
